Small Style :: Geek Chic

2 Aug

My styling daughter. Because when wearing Darth Vadar shirts, one must always accessorize with pink sparkly shoes, bracelet and a crown!

Small Style :: Nostalgic Minnie

10 May

My daughter is so in love with this dress. She will most definitely be sad when it’s too small.

It was mine when I was little. I remember wearing it when I was Avi’s age to a Disney on Ice event, sitting in the front row and being so excited when I got attention from the stars because of the dress.

It’s almost as if she knows it’s special.

That she gets so excited to wear it.

When she wears it, she lights up and loves showing it off.

She even wanted to tell Harvey alllll about it.

Plus, it looks so lovely spilling out in a circle when she plays on Harvey. The polka dots, the lace, the bow, the ruffles.

Small Style :: Layers Upon Layers

19 Apr

My daughter’s style makes me happy. She knows what she likes (Pink! Sparkly! Dresses!) and will only wear those things. Sometimes she will find something that she loves too (her black boots are a hit because they “look like mommy’s”) but most of the time it must be one of those three things.

Last night, we all got to sleep around 8 which was wonderful since all three of us were tired. The unfortunate thing with that is that she woke up early. Most weekday mornings, she doesn’t wake up until we get to the babysitter’s house. Today though, she snuck into the bathroom while I was showering. Her hand over her eyes to keep the light out of it, she turned off the fan (“too loud, momma!”) and asked if we were going to the new house now.

After explaining to her again that it was still several sleeps until we would be going to the new house, I convinced her to go pick out what she wanted to wear for today.

I get out of the shower to find her with piles of clothes laying around her as she is sorting through everything.

She found what she wanted to wear.

Forgive the dramatic forhead pose. And the messy pantry behind her. Let’s concentrate on the outfit my darling baby girl picked out.

Pink Dora Dress.
Pink Butterfly Skirt.
Pink Plaid Sparkly Pants.
Pink Sparkly Shoes.

She is set for the day!

For the day, she added on a pink zip up sweatshirt.

With her Baby Bunny and Balloons, checking before she crosses the street.

She was styling!

Oh, and she picked out my clothes too. Rocking my styling pink heels today!

This was the reaction when I asked her if I could bring other shoes in to work today:

Needless to say, I am still wearing those shoes!

Small Style :: Formal Wear

5 Apr

My daughter has never been one to shy away from the girly.

Her favorite color is pink, she loves getting her nails and makeup done and would wear at least one dress, if not 3 every day if she had enough.

So when she found one of my dresses in a pile of folded clothes she just had to put it on. Of course, it’s not even close to her size….but we made it work. Even if it was backwards.

She even ASKED me to take pictures of her.

I love that a knee-length dress on me becomes a formal dress with a train on her.

She looked so beautiful and so happy.

I can’t wait until we get to go dress shopping for real. Then again, never mind. I want her to stay my baby forever….

Small Style :: Eclectic

29 Mar

In an effort to start blogging again, I thought I might follow along with some of my favorite bloggers (Adventures in Babywearing and So Fawned) and show a little bit of my daughter’s amazing style. Nothing is designer. Most of it is hand-me-downs or a gift. But I’m fine with that! Especially since this was Avi’s fourth outfit of the day, not counting PJs in the morning an at night, we need lots of options.

In this outfit, there is a sundress that her papa and nana got her when they were in Hawaii, a silver tutu from Christmas pajamas two years ago, a brown corduroy skirt and plaid pants from a friend and shoes also from a friend. Underneath her pants, she also has a pair of pink striped leggings with seahorses on them.

Overall, a very common outfit in our house!
