Growing Up Geeky

16 Jul

My daughter?  Doesn’t have a chance.

We are constantly around technology.  Our house, especially is full of different options.  Both Mr. Soup and I are on our computers a lot.  When not on the computers, we might be watching a TV Series (Buffy atm).  We also read a lot too.

Our daughter, monkey as she is in personality, climb-ability and awareness, has taken on similar traits.

She LOVES books.  Will take them with her anywhere, but especially under the TV or in the special fort that her daddy made for her out of a blanket, dining room chairs and the cushion from a papasan.

She will also do anything to get on a computer.  Yesterday, she visited me at work at the end of the day and just HAD to touch every computer in the office that didn’t have an active person sitting at it.  She ran around, giggling, as she moved the mice and tapped at the keyboards.  Even the one on the table that was juuuuuust a bit too tall for her so she had to stand on her very tip-toes.  It was adorable.

So when her grandpa setup a computer for my nephew to play with while they were hanging out, as soon as the chair was empty, it was go-time.  No troll was safe.

We are now renting her out to tech support companies.  Girl’s got mad skillz.

Adorable! I feel like kids are accessing technology younger and younger these days! Really different from when I was growing up!

Oh without a doubt. It’s along the lines of when TV was introduced. And Cars. And electricity…..

      Is this evening acceptable? :p

She has figured out how to remove the safety thingy we put on the front of our computers so she can turn them off. Also, figured out how to delete apps off of our iPhones.

Yes, they always want to be just like us! And if it gets them skillz for the future? Even better!
