24 Mar

A touch broke into my sleep.  A whispered request.  A squeeze.

My mind separated from it’s peaceful slumber to pull into reality.  Still somewhat dazed I turned into comforting mode, holding the warm body close to me.

Another moment passed.  Could have been hours but most likely was no longer than a minute and it was done.  My big, strong husband relaxed.

Mr. Soup has a heart condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White.  What this means is that there are too many nerves around the heart which can cause the heart to beat erratically and too quickly.  He had surgery on it 8 years ago, but they were not able to get rid of all the extra nerves, as some were too close to the necessary nerves.  This means that he will still get episodes, they warned.

He would get an episode a few times a year, but nothing too horrible.  It would cause him to become very very weak and tired for a few hours, but not bad.

Early Tuesday morning though is another story.  He felt the heart beat really hard four times and could feel the blood getting pushed through.  It wiped him out.  And scared him.  And me.

So we went to the doctor.  He had a cardiologist when he was on Kaizer, but as that is an HMO, needed a new one.  We got a referral and he’ll be visiting them next week.

Prayers would be lovely.  Chances are, they can’t do anything about it but if it’s getting worse, it’s good to know.

Prayers as well that my daughter doesn’t have it either would be great.  Small chance of it being hereditary, but still a chance.  Course, no way to test for it but we’ll know what to watch out for as she grows.

Oh, and THEN I find out my computer is now estimated to arrive on the 5th of April.  *sigh*  It’s not even been shipped yet!!  Way too much time has passed since I’ve had a computer to call my own.

Big hugs. I know this will not surprise you… but my husband has had heart issues as well. We think it was caused by sleep apnea, but he had several episodes of atrial fibrillation, which causes his heart to race at random times. He also had a surgery, to correct the sleep apnea, and we have luckily not had any more problems with his heart. But we still have to have a cardiologist to monitor things. I feel you, really. More big hugs.

Nope, no surprise at all….and I’m sorry. It’s scary. Especially since there isn’t much that can be done to help it. But we will get through it.

      Thank you. ❤
