You Capture – Shapes

25 Feb

During my Sunday Walk, I was on the lookout for shapes for You Capture.

We saw Triangles:

Flowers Blooming

Rectangles!

Mossy Bricks

Rounded Triangles!  I’m sure there is a shape name for these….

Pine Cone

And lines!

Lots of lines:

Street Sign

Straight lines:

Buds

Curved Lines:

Burst of Flower

Happy Lines:

Baby Grin

This You Capture was a blast!  Can’t wait for next weeks of Hopeful!

These pictures look SO lovely. You did a great job capturing pretty shapes in nature. And as always, how delicious is your sweet baby girl?

I love your use of a shallow depth of field and bokah.

Great eye! I can just feel the warmth radiating off of those bricks. See those with the moss growing from the cracks makes me wish for summer.

Thank you! And yes, it was so nice and warm. With no clouds either? It was absolutely an amazing weather day out here in Oregon. Now, of course, it’s raining cats and dogs and overcast…but we dreamed of spring there for a little bit!

Aha! I learned something new today. I like photos with the background out of focus in a nice soft blurry way. Now I know what that is called!!! Yay! I don’t know how to DO it (or even if I can with my point’n’shoot) but that’s okay. I kinda sorta know how to photoshop it. 🙂

Hurray for having words for it! You’ll want a large aperture (a small f-stop number) which will concentrate the focus on one small area. With a point and shoot it’s a little more difficult to get it, but depending on the camera you may be able to choose a setting. Do you have a macro setting on the camera? It’s usually symbolized by a flower. That tends to have a larger aperture setting.
