24 hours can change a world

30 Nov

24 hours ago, I was sleeping peacefully. blissfully unaware that my husband would be waking me up, having a stroke. my amazing 27 year old husband. who knew that in the future hours to come, he would be poked, prodded, moved to three different rooms in two separate hospitals. that the high point of my day would come when eye contact would be made, his good arm reaching up and being pulled in for a kiss. that we would celebrate something as simple as a flinch from pain. that our future plans – this week, next month, the year to come would flip on it’s head.

24 hours ago was a whole different world.

I read prayers for you on kbreints blog. My heart sank as this would be my worst nightmare; anything happening to my husband, as only 24 short hours ago we celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary.

Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers!!

OH MY GOD! I just checked in on Facebook as well to see if there’s any new news on his condition. I have you all in my thoughts and I know that each day will bring the “whys” in sharper focus as well as the healing. My cousin of 46 (which is still young to me) had a stroke about 6 weeks ago and every day she gets better and better with love and hard work.

  16. Leah November 30, 2010 at 7:21 pm #

I’m so sorry you’re having to go through all this Kathy. You were just their for me, I can’t believe it’s your turn now. All I keep thinking, is ‘we’re young’ Why are these things happening at our age. It’s so hard to wrap my head around.

But Ryan has you to take care of him, and you have your family (and me) to take care of you. All will work it self out. Prayers are with you my dear!!
